Overview

This article describes the contents of the version 8465 SnapHire product release.  This version is available for general release from the 16th August 2017.  This article includes:

Continued work on 'Email to Friend' spammer prevention

Some organizations had reported fake bounce-back emails being sent from their email address.  These emails were created by malicious bots (software application that runs automated tasks) using the 'Email to Friend' button which appears on SnapHire job advertisements.  The bot would create a fake bounce-back email address and then send about 1000 emails to friends using the fake email address as the "from" account.

Continuing on from the work we did on this issue in SnapHire version 8464, in this version we have introduced further security mechanisms to deter bot behavior.

Grammatical correction: Add missing colon from 'Application app' label

For organizations who have enabled the Talent App Store with their SnapHire site:  When a job seeker submits an application via an app, the the 'Application app' label and information appears under the Application Data heading in the job seeker details screen.  In this version we have added the missing colon from this label:

Before
After

Change to wording on button visible to job seeker on careers site

For organizations who have enabled the Talent App Store with their SnapHire site: When a job seeker is signed into the careers site, and is viewing a job to which they have already applied, the wording on the button they see has changed in this version from 'Sorry, you may not re-apply for this job.' to 'Application submitted'.

Administration changes

In this release we've also made some administration changes.  These changes won't impact you directly, but we thought you might like to know about them just the same:

  • Addition of new database structure to support upcoming views - In this version we have added a new database structure to support upcoming mapping view functionality relating to information from APIs.  The changes in this version have no impact on existing mapping views (e.g. bucket views, document generator views, approval views, default job list view etc).
